FAQs
What is a mezzanine floor?
A mezzanine floor, or mezzanine, is an intermediate floor system installed between the main floors of a building or warehouse, effectively creating an additional level within the existing space. It’s used to maximise vertical space for storage, office space, or other purposes without the need for expansion.
What are the benefits of installing a mezzanine floor?
Installing a mezzanine floor can significantly increase the usable space by utilising this space vertically. Mezzanine floors are the perfect solution to creating extra storage space, office space or simply improving your organisation. They are a cost-effective solution and with MPC Systems, we do our best to install mezzanine floors quickly and with minimal disruptions.
What types of buildings can have mezzanine floors?
Mezzanine flooring is suitable for a number of industry applications. Here at MPC Systems, we specialise in five types of mezzanine:
- Commercial Mezzanine Floors
- Office Mezzanine Floors
- Retail Mezzanine Floors
- Storage Mezzanine Floors
- Warehouse Mezzanine Floors

Can mezzanine floors be moved?
The great thing about mezzanine flooring is that it can easily be dismantled, relocated or adjusted to fit your update requirements. With minimum fuss and disruption, MPC Systems can move your mezzanine floor to a different space or even a different building if needed.
Does mezzanine need planning permission?
Typically, due to mezzanine being a temporary structure within an existing building, planning permission is not required, however, this is not always the case. Other permissions are legally required such as a fire safety assessment and an assessment from a building regulator. If you would like more information on the legal requirements and assessments required, please get in touch with our experts by email or by phone.
